Mrs. Yasin

Mr Rashid knows what he's doing, it's as simple as that! It helps that he too has been through the 11+ experience attending a grammar school himself when younger and then with his own children. One can't truly appreciate something until one has lived and breathed it oneself so Mr Rashid empathizes with his students

Mr Anwar, thank you so much for all your help and support.  Very pleased with the results.

Home Tuition

For some parents, it is not feasible to attend the centre due to other commitments or travel issues. Or they may feel their child may benefit from individual attention for whatever reason; ability, personality, time constraints etc. In such circumstances, 11Plus West Midlands offer a service of 1-2-1 home tuition.

Individual tuition is at £30 per hour and £40 per 1½ hours, with a minimum of 1½ hours for Year 5 and 1 hour for other years*.

11+ Course – Year 5

The Year 5 11+ course is specifically designed to nurture the lateral thought process and enhance the key aptitudes required to sit the 11+ plus exam. Skills within each of the four key 11+ disciplines of English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning are taught. A Test pack of 11+ type questions is given to the students every week to work through and consolidate the skills of the lesson.Additionally, there is also a homework pack to complete every week, which is tested, marked and feedback presented the following week. This ensures the parent is continually kept up to date with their child’s progress.

11+ Prep Course – Year 3 and Year 4

The Year 3 and Year 4 preparatory course is a building block to enhance the child’s key proficiencies and build a foundation in order to fulfil their potential the following year. The vital skills necessary and principal concepts of Maths and English are covered in-depth to ease the passage onto the rigorous 11+ year.Once again there is also a homework pack to complete every week, including the all important vocabulary, which is tested, marked and feedback presented the following week.

Year 1 and Year 2

The essence of the Year 1 and Year 2 programme is to lay a solid foundation for your child’s education. By tackling work that would usually be covered in later years, our pupils are usually well ahead of their peers in schools, thus giving them an edge when it comes to essential Maths and English subjects.Historically, our pupils have by far outperformed other pupils in KS1 and KS2 SATs and internal tests. Lessons consist of 1 hour sessions, once or twice per week, depending on requirement. A homework pack is also provided, which needs to be completed by the next lesson. In Year 1 / 2, the pupil is tested intermittently, rather than every week, as testing every week at this stage may prove counter productive.

KS2 SATS

Many parents retain our services in Year 6 after the 11+ exam in order to preserve the momentum for the KS2 SATS held in March.A comprehensive course of creative writing and past papers is undertaken, with examiners mark schemes, to ensure the highest level of attainment for the student.

KS3 / GCSE Maths and GCSE ICT

With many secondary schools introducing Modular and Linear GCSEs earlier in the school year, the target of the secondary tuition is to aim specifically towards gaining the highest possible grades in the GCSE exams or internal school exams. Our tutors are specialists in these subjects, having had many years of corporate and education experience. As the exams approach, an intensive study of past papers will be undertaken to enable the students to gain ample exam experience and familiarity with the question types.If tuition in other subjects is required, a list of external tutors can be recommended, so please do not hesitate to contact us to ensure your child gets the best possible grades.

* Notes:

Prices and times are guides and may vary depending on any Initial Assessment, students ability, time remaining until the 11+ exam or distance travelled to pupil’s home. It may also be necessary to conduct more than one session a week in order to maximise a child’s potential and chances of success. Please call for a detailed discussion.Prices quoted are for home tuition at the tutor’s home (in Hall Green, B28). A surcharge may apply for home visits to the student’s home.

Multiple students in a small group (in the same year) may qualify for a discount per child.
